Solid Distributed Systems is a Romanian senior cloud and AI infrastructure practice. We sell fixed-scope packages with published scope, fixed quotes, and published timelines. No vague retainers, no surprises after kickoff, no junior engineers learning on your account. One senior practitioner, two decades of production scars, and a delivery library refined across forty-plus projects from EU Commission systems to fintech platforms to AI agent backends.

With two strong cloud engineers and six weeks of runway, you absolutely can. We'll tell you when this is the right answer. But most teams underestimate what comes after "it works": IAM scoped correctly, KMS keys rotating, GDPR documentation defensible under audit, the exit runbook the regulator now requires. That tail is where months disappear.

What drives us
The cloud consulting market is stuck between two bad options: white-glove firms that price out anyone below the Fortune 1000, and bargain freelance marketplaces that produce infrastructure no one wants to inherit. The middle — senior, fast, fixed-price, accountable — was missing. We believe European companies should be able to buy production-grade cloud foundations the way they buy a laptop: known specifications, known price, known delivery date, known warranty.

How we work

You pick a package and pay the deposit. Within one business day you receive a short intake form. A 30-minute kickoff call follows within three business days.

Delivery runs against the published timeline. Daily commits in a private repo, written updates twice a week. Problems escalated immediately.

Handover is a working session — not a document drop. You receive code, documentation, diagrams, credentials, and runbooks. Thirty days of warranty follow.
We work with three to four clients at a time, never more. That cap is what makes the timelines real.
How we use AI
We use Claude, Copilot, and a private library of internal MCP servers and prompts throughout delivery — generating first-draft Terraform from specifications, summarising intake forms, drafting documentation, reviewing code, producing reports from CLI output. This is part of why our prices are lower than traditional boutiques.
What AI does not do is make the architectural decision. It will happily build you an EKS cluster you did not need, a serverless stack that ignores a regulatory constraint, or a RAG pipeline whose costs spiral in week three. The judgment about what to build, what to refuse to build, and what will survive your specific environment is what you are paying for. The code is the easy part now. The choices are not.
Where we work
AWS and Azure as primary clouds. OVHcloud, Hetzner, Scaleway, and Exoscale for clients whose compliance posture favors non-American infrastructure. AWS European Sovereign Cloud and Azure EU Data Boundary when those are the right answer. GDPR, NIS2, and DORA are built into every deliverable — not added afterwards.
Who we are
Solid Distributed Systems SRL is a Romanian company founded by Cosmin Banciu — senior cloud and DevOps engineer with twenty years of experience including platform engineering at the European Commission, lead DevOps at Aily Labs, and infrastructure roles for Volkswagen, Lego, Cisco, WIPO, BMW, and IBM. AWS Solutions Architect Professional and Azure Fundamentals certified. Headquartered in Râșnov, Brașov. Deliberately small. Intending to stay that way.
Merlin built his foundations before the kingdom existed. He stayed long after the kings did. That's the standard.
